Our Project Partner …

The H.E.L.G.O. CHILD LABOUR PROJECT in Kolkata (India) supports ca. 200 children from poor families, most of whom are former child workers. By providing help with school work, school fees or material, the project supports those children to show them a way out of the vicious circle of poverty through educational opportunities. The project and the staffed social workers set high value to close contacts with the children and their families.

… keeps a good overview, thanks to a customized software.

Before the project, information on the children were stored in Excel-Files or printed forms. This caused outdated information in various files and killed a lot of the social worker’s time. A software customized for the processes and requirements of H.E.L.G.O. could support the local social workers by simplifying their tasks and saving time. Up-to-date information are centralized and accessible at any time, which reduces sources of errors. Some tasks could even be automated, for example the creation of various lists. Furthermore, specialized software functions could support keeping track of the development of specific children or the project as a whole.

Most software solutions available on the market are currently not affordable for smaller organisations like H.E.L.G.O. Beyond that, most of them are complex to set up and to use, which is an additional hurdle.

With our project “Aam Digital”, we want to create a open source software, that is easy to use and matches the working processes of the H.E.L.G.O. project perfectly. For the far future, we’re looking forward to make the software customizable by other NGOs.
