The Fifth Construction Phase

June 2017 – January 2018

At the beginning of the fifth construction phase in June 2017, the fourth and final pre-school building was completed. Immediately thereafter, work started on the construction of the first of the four planned girls’ residence buildings. These can each accommodate eight children and two carers. They are built in a earthquake-proof reinforced concrete skeleton construction and supplemented with a wood infill. In addition, sanitary facilities are installed in each residential building. Each house will have an open entrance that serves as a living area. A roof made of wooden trusses will be stretched over each building to withstand a hurricane. In November, the roofing ceremony for the first girls’ home was celebrated. Our goal until the end of this construction phase is the completion of the first girl’s home.
