Who are we?
We are 20 students from different fields of study at different universities in Karlsruhe. Together we work voluntarily on the water supply for Island of Hope.
In the first construction phase, we want to build a system that reliably cleans and disinfects the water in several stages. The old system will be used as the basis for the new system.
In the second construction phase, the amount of water pumped through the filter system is to be greatly reduced by restructuring the water pipes. This will allow the filter components can be used longer.
Even after implementation, we want to continue to improve the local population’s knowledge and involvement enable long-term use and reliable maintenance of the system. Through the successful implementation of our project, the water supply for 550 children can be ensured in the long term.
