Project Phase 4 – Hospital ward
Currently, there is only a small hospital room where a nurse is taking care of the students. In case of disease outbreaks, the maximum capacity of the hospital room is reached quickly.
Besides, there is no room on the school grounds, where the sick students can rest or recover. In the dorms of the school sleep about up to 80 students. It is not possible to rest there, additionally the contagiousness is quite high. Especially in the rainy season, when the risk of malaria increases, the current hospital ward is absolutely overloaded.
To improve the current situation, we want to build a hospital ward for the school.
The ward is supposed to consist of two dorms for boys and girls with 11 bed each and a bath room with a toilet and a shower. Moreover, the health care center consists of a treatment room and living space for the two nurses, a waiting room and a dispensary for medication. For the construction, we will use the environmentally friendly ISSB technology, like in the previous projects.
The planning occurs in intensive collaboration with the architect of the school. Doctors and nurses have contributed as experts to the planning process. We want to establish basic standards in health care and hygiene to provide a good learning environment to the students.
